The North (2026) is an adventure drama written and directed by Dutch filmmaker Bart Schrijver. The film stars Bart Harder and Carles Pulido, alongside Matthijs van de Sande Bakhuyzen and Olly Bassi. Shot entirely on location across Scotland’s West Highland Way and Cape Wrath Trail with a tiny crew, it opened in theaters on October 9, 2026, offering audiences one of the most immersive outdoor film experiences of the year. This page covers everything about the north 2026 full movie, from the cast to the story.
The story follows Chris, a Dutchman, and Lluis, a Spaniard, two friends in their early thirties who reunite a decade after they were best friends and roommates. Together they set out on a grueling 600-kilometer hike through the Scottish Highlands, hoping to reconnect with each other, with nature, and with parts of themselves they lost along the way.
The production mirrored the journey itself: the crew carried their own gear, slept outdoors, and shot chronologically, letting the weather, terrain, and physical reality of the trail shape the story. With no traditional musical score, the film relies on the natural soundscape of wind, rain, wildlife, and footsteps, making the landscape itself a character in this quiet meditation on friendship, distance, and self-discovery, which is what makes the north 2026 full movie such an immersive outdoor experience.
