Zach Braff stars as Sergeant Kevin Simmers, who leads a drug task force waging war on drugs in Hagerstown, a major stop on what is known as the “Heroin Highway.” At home, Simmers is a desperate father watching his 19-year-old daughter Brooke, played by Esther McGregor, slide from pain medication into heroin addiction. The supporting cast includes Holt McCallany as Congressman David Trone, Abigail Spencer as Kevin’s wife Dana, and Lucas Till as Deputy Dormer. Notably, graduates of Brooke’s House, the real-life all-women recovery home Kevin Simmers founded in Hagerstown, appear in the film, and a share of its profits is dedicated to the home.
