Case 137 (2025), released in France as Dossier 137, is a French crime drama directed by Dominik Moll, co-written with his longtime collaborator Gilles Marchand. Following the acclaimed investigative drama The Night of the 12th, which won seven César Awards including Best Picture and Best Director, Moll returns with another taut procedural rooted in modern France. The film premiered in main competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Palme d’Or, and went on to earn eight César Award nominations, winning Best Actress for Léa Drucker. Viewers searching for case 137 2025 full movie will find a gripping French procedural.
Drucker leads the cast as Stéphanie Bertrand, an investigator with France’s IGPN, the internal affairs unit often called the “police of the police.” She is assigned to investigate a case in which a young man was severely wounded by a flash-ball projectile fired during the yellow vest protests. The case takes a deeply personal turn when Stéphanie discovers that the victim is from her own hometown. Jonathan Turnbull, Mathilde Roehrich, Guslagie Malanda, and Stanislas Merhar round out the ensemble cast of this acclaimed crime drama.
Case 137 unfolds as a gripping and quietly explosive policier, navigating institutional silence, hierarchical pressure, and the tension between loyalty and accountability within a system built to protect its own. Stéphanie’s investigation forces her to confront hostility from the victim’s family and skepticism from fellow officers, including her own ex-husband, slowly eroding her faith in the institution she has served. The film is as much a character study as a procedural: a restrained, emotionally charged reflection on police impunity, class tension, and unchecked state power, grounded by Drucker’s commanding, award-winning performance. Like case 137 2025 full movie, the best dramas blend personal stakes with sharp social commentary.
