Prahaar: The Final Attack is a 1991 Indian Hindi-language action drama — this prahaar 1991 full movie marked the directorial debut of Nana Patekar, who also wrote and starred in the film. A powerful tale of duty, discipline and conscience, the movie was nominated for Best Story at the 37th Filmfare Awards and went on to become a cult favourite of patriotic Hindi cinema. Its hard-hitting courtroom climax and unflinching look at commando training made it one of the most talked-about films of its time.
Nana Patekar leads the cast as Major V. S. Chavan, the feared and uncompromising commando training officer. Gautam Joglekar plays 2nd Lt. Peter D’Souza, the young officer who dreams of joining his battalion’s specialist commando platoon, with Madhuri Dixit and Dimple Kapadia in key roles alongside Habib Tanvir and Makrand Deshpande. Music for the film was composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal.
The story follows Peter as he leaves his family behind and undergoes brutal commando training at the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre under Major Chavan — a man whose harsh discipline hides a troubled past. When a tragic incident involving one of his trained commandos exposes the apathy and corruption of society outside the army, Chavan decides that his battle is not only against enemies at the border but also against crime, corruption and injustice within. This prahaar 1991 full movie remains memorable for its message: that a soldier’s duty to his country does not end with retirement.
