Rolling Loud: The Movie (2026) is a raucous comedy directed by Jeremy Garelick, the filmmaker behind The Wedding Ringer and Murder Mystery 2. Set against the backdrop of the world’s biggest hip-hop festival, the film takes the classic father-son road comedy and drops it into a world of mosh pits, backstage chaos, and bass-heavy mayhem. Starring Owen Wilson in full “wow” mode, it blends fish-out-of-water family humor with an insider’s look at festival culture. This page covers everything about rolling loud: the movie 2026 full movie, from the cast to the story.
Wilson plays Hank, a suburban dad who feels his connection to his 13-year-old son Zion (Christian Convery) slipping away. Against his wife’s express wishes, he concocts a plan to bond with the boy by sneaking him into Rolling Loud, the massive hip-hop festival headlined by Travis Scott. The plan implodes almost immediately when Hank loses his son in a sea of thousands, turning a weekend of questionable bonding into a frantic, drug-fueled search through the festival grounds.
He is joined in the madness by his unhinged co-worker Terry (Matt Rife) and an eccentric festival volunteer played by Christine Ko, while real-life stars including Travis Scott, Sexyy Red, Ski Mask The Slump God, and Ty Dolla $ign appear as themselves, adding authentic musical energy to the chaos. That all-star mayhem is a big reason rolling loud: the movie 2026 full movie stands out among recent festival comedies.
At its heart, the film is about the lengths a father will go to feel relevant in his child’s life, even when every decision makes things worse. The story was inspired by a real-life incident: Garelick once lost his own teenage son at a Rolling Loud festival, and his son even co-wrote the story. Shot partly on location at the actual festival, the movie mixes scripted comedy with the raw, unpredictable energy of a live event.
